Perhaps one of the most popular sports is boxing. Furthermore, coming from the Philippines, I am really no stranger to such sports because of Manny Pacquiao. I remember growing up with our streets almost empty whenever he fought because everyone was watching him from their televisions. I remember my father and also some people saying that it is the ultimate martial arts/ self-defense because it teaches you how to dodge and strike effectively with just bare but quick hands. Coming from the Philippines, I also grew up watching anime every afternoon after class. I am also an avid gamer even at an early age with me and my classmates during my elementary school days boasting about the legendary Pokémons we caught every breaktime of our classes. All of this made it no surprise for me to try the Fitness Boxing feat. Hatsune Miku (Imagineer Co., Ltd., 2024) in my Nintendo Switch.

The game uses the usual two controllers Switch has called “Joy-cons”, and takes advantage of them being motion controllers for it to know whether you are punching with your left or right hand in a certain direction. The game teaches you and requires you to do jabs, straights, uppercuts, etc. while trying to be in sync with popular anime songs and in the proper stance, which may not sound a lot since you are just punching the air. But trust me, you can sweat a lot while playing this game! What is more, the console you can play it on (Nintendo Switch) is very portable and can be set in any place, will not take up much space, and can be easily removed afterward—perfect for students who live far from home! And if you already have such a console, you just need to pay one time for the game and use it even every day, saving you from paying monthly for a gym membership.
