The bustling markets offered an array of street food, including hotteok (sweet pancakes) and bungeoppang (fish-shaped pastries), perfect treats to combat the cold.

Embracing Festivities

Winter in Korea brings forth vibrant festivals celebrating the season. The Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival provided a glimpse into the local culture, with activities such as ice fishing and sledding. Engaging with locals and participating in traditional games amplified the joyous atmosphere, making it an unforgettable experience.

Surviving the harsh Korean winter required resilience. The bone-chilling temperatures demanded frequent breaks indoors to thaw out and recharge. Adapting to the shorter daylight hours meant planning activities accordingly, making the most of the limited sunlight.
